Human Biological Samples

To discover mechanisms of disease, to identify novel diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic biomarkers, researchers need thousands of biospecimens. Our company provides the following types of biospecimens for research purposes collected from patients suffering from oncological, hematological, rheumatological/inflammatory, neurological and many other diseases, as well as from healthy subjects.

TISSUE SAMPLES and derivatives

Diseased and adjacent normal tissue samples are available, collected through biopsy procedures or during surgery. Such samples can be processed by standard or customized protocols, to derive biospecimens fitting your research needs.

  • Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) blocks
  • Flash-frozen (FF) tissue samples
  • Unstained FFPE slides
  • H&E stained FFPE slides
  • Frozen O.C.T.-embedded samples
  • Tissue sections/curls from FFPE blocks
  • Tissue samples stabilized in RNAlater reagent
  • Viable tissue fragments in a cryomedia
  • Dissociated viable cells
  • Other (please enquire)

BIOFLUIDS and derivatives

Human body produces numerous physiological and pathological biofluids that represent key substrates for diagnostics. Thus, researchers worldwide concentrate their efforts on studying various biofluids in both norm and pathology. Samples can be processed by standard or customized protocols, to derive biospecimens fitting your research needs.

Common types of biofluids:

  • Blood
  • Bone marrow aspirate (BMA)
  • Urine
  • Saliva
  • Exudate
  • Ascitic fluid
  • Synovial fluid
  • Wound fluid

Biofluid derivatives:

  • Frozen whole blood
  • Plasma (various subtypes)
  • Serum
  • Buffy coat
  • Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC, viable and flash-frozen)
  • Blood smears
  • Stabilized blood (in PAXgene tubes)
  • Dried blood spots
  • Flash-frozen bone marrow aspirate (BMA FF)
  • Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMC, viable and flash-frozen)
  • Bone marrow aspirate smears
  • Stabilized bone marrow aspirate (in PAXgene tubes)
  • Frozen whole urine
  • Isolated urine cells (viable and flash-frozen)
  • Frozen urine supernatant
  • Frozen whole saliva
  • Stabilized saliva (DNA stabilizer)
  • Frozen whole exudate
  • Isolated urine cells (viable and flash-frozen)
  • Frozen exudate supernatant
  • Frozen whole ascitic fluid

OTHER

Other human biospecimens may also be of interest to researchers. For example, hair represent interesting target to monitor treatment by accumulation of metabolites, feces are key substrate of microbiome studies, etc.

  • Swabs (nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, buccal, vaginal, urinary)
  • Feces
  • Hair
  • Breast milk samples
  • Pancreatic juice and bile samples
